WHAT IS A DIPLOMA OF REMEDIAL MASSAGE?
The Diploma of Remedial Massage is a qualification that enables you to treat a client with muscular problems from a “sore” neck from sitting at the computer too long, to an injury from playing a sport.
The diploma not only allows you to assess, refer and treat patients using Remedial Massage techniques but also gives you the skills to develop professional expertise and manage your own practice.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL YOU RECEIVE AT THE COMPLETION OF THE DIPLOMA?
The Diploma of Remedial Massage is accredited Nationally and also by The Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT). This allows your clients to claim rebates and Workcover for treatments that they receive from you. Your qualification will allow you to work in spas, on board the cruise liners, wellness centres, massage clinics and with other modalities such as chiropractors.
WHAT DO REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPISTS DO?
Remedial Massage therapists use many different techniques to treat muscular pains and dysfunctions that affect human movement. In order to treat each a client, students at learn the essentials required for assessment and practice.
These include:
- How to communicate with clients and other professionals
- Taking detailed histories of their clients
- Providing remedial massage techniques
- How to manage a practice
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING THROUGHOUT THE COURSE?
Throughout the diploma you will be completing 28 units of work. These units include face-to-face work and homework. The assessment of each unit is done via a learner’s assessment book and practical assessments throughout classes.
HOW LONG WILL THE COURSE TAKE?
In order to complete the Diploma of Remedial Massage attendance is required four days a week for one year (40 weeks). During these classes you will be involved in theory and practical work, including treatment of clients that make appointments at the College’s Clinic. You will also be required to complete the theory units in your own time.

Natural Skincare College in conjunction with Marjorie Milner College is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) which means that your Diploma is Nationally recognised and accredited by the Government.
